    VIRTUAL MEETING

    Wednesday, October 14, 2020

    Noon – 1:00 pm

    Your Gift Planning GPS:

NACGP'S NATIONAL STANDARDS FOR GIFT PLANNING SUCCESS

    JOE BULL

Your Gift Planning GPS: What is the difference between a good gift planning program and a great one? In the fall of 2020, CGP will publish National Standards for Gift Planning Success (GPS). The standards describe best-case scenarios for all aspects of a program, including management support, human capacity-building and donor-focused operations. In this presentation, the Chair of CGP’s Metrics and Standards Task Force brings an update on the development of the GPS Standards and how they incorporate the challenging process of measuring the performance of gift planners and planned giving programs. We know that many gift planners struggle to have a “seat at the table” in their organizations. Many gift planners also consider their metrics to be counterproductive, incentivizing the wrong behavior and imposing a short-term view on a long-term process. The CGP GPS Standards will provide large and small organizations a road map for program success and a realistic way to generate information that helps managers understand the importance of gift planners’ work.

    An Epical Ethical Quest

    Suzanne Ruley

There is fun to be done on your epical ethical quest.

Get out your compass of values and we’ll learn to be our best.

We’ll see the Lonely Lands of Honesty and an Appearance of Impropriety.

In an hour-full of pleasures, we will examine Tainted Treasures.

In a round trip to the Stormy Seas of Stewardship we’ll see

Prospect Policy Protocols and Perfectly Perilous Privacy Pitfalls.

Once you know ethics lands and seas, you’ll navigate it easily.

You’ll fearlessly flee factors that forebode,

And know which is the best fork to take in the road.

You’ll meet your greatest allies, and mobilize great wealth.

When you end your epical quest you’ll shout, “I have new perspectives on ethics, no doubt!”

Joint Meeting with Pinellas County Estate Planning Council

    Catch The Legacy Wealth Wave:
Helping Boomer Clients Hit Their Legacy Home Run

The Riley Case – Can this Estate Planning Case be Save After Tax-Reform?

Phil Cubeta, CLU, ChFC, MSFS, AEP, CAP - The Wallace Chair in Philanthropy at The American College of Financial Services

As Boomer’s enter their legacy planning years, they are slated to leave trillions to heirs and charity. Yet, under current law, fewer than 2,000 a year will owe estate tax. How, then, will you position yourself on the donor’s legacy planning team as he or she decides how much to leave now, later and at death to heirs and charity?

In this presentation you will learn how to open the legacy planning conversation and then connect it to financial planning, retirement planning, estate planning, and charitable tools. We will review a values-driven legacy planning process for high net worth clients and donors who may or may not have an estate tax issue.  You will also learn why strong relationships with nonprofits are essential if you are to help the donor tag all the legacy planning bases.
